„The spherical shape is technically ideal, because the sound waves are reflected off the inner wall with no interference,“ said Ronald Jaklitsch, who, in cooperation with us, developed his unique speakers. But why porcelain? It’s a rather unusual material for speakers. Jaklitsch wanted a hard, low-vibration, hollow sphere with absolutely uniform wall thickness.

In a German newspaper Dr. Fritz Panzer, CEO of the Porcelain Manufactory, discovered small, spherical, porcelain speakers made by special interest providers from Vienna. So eighteen months ago, Dr. Panzer and Ronald Jaklitsch got together and started the porcelain speaker project. In mid-March, we were able to present our customers as well as Augarten fans with the mo°sound speakers made of porcelain. The making of the spherical shape was a challenge for our professionals in the factory. „I suffer from perfectionism. I wanted better, larger speakers. When Augarten said they’d try it, I was really excited. We reached the limits of possibility, but the folks at Augarten are also perfectionists. They wanted a completely seamless cast. They succeeded and that is admirable“, praised the technician and creative chief of mo°sound. So how is a seamless sphere made of porcelain actually created? Karl Blumauer, who is responsible for molding in the factory, had the solution: an explosive form. And indeed, the cast is „blown up“ into two perfect hemispheres. Only when the two halves fit perfectly, without recognizing the seam, is the porcelain ball complete. At the release party in our flagship store in the Spiegelgasse, the famous Austrian musician and music producer Thomas Rabitsch was very impressed with the speakers and listened closely with the ears of a professional. The technical insides of the speakers feature the Pro-Ject Audio System.
Visually as well as technically, mo°sound speakers are a must-have for anyone who appreciates the combination of functionality and design. The resonating porcelain spheres are available in stores in Vienna, Linz and Salzburg, as well as at mo°sound directly. Drop by the shop any time to witness this sonic experience for yourself!
